Wondertere, or Wondertete (because French nicknames are formed by repeating the first syllable of the name) arrived to Lyon.
Let the party begin!
English below
Lyon

Lyon
Lyon is like a little Paris, in slower motion, without the snobbery of Parisians, without the wildness of tourists. It feels like walking around people of Lyon, calmest, that they don’t walk, the stroll. In Lyon I realize that you have to separate the Parisian stereotype to the real French. Like the Porteño of Argentine, the Mafioso Italian ,to the true Italian. Then in Lyon there are more French than the French Parisian stereotype.
I’ve been here since two weeks and there are still places in the city that I have not yet discovered. I love it. I like those cities that no Tour Guide book or Google Map adviser will tell you to find the best places. I like those cities that you need your instinct to find the wright person to tell you where you have to eat the best food on town, the best feeling of the city, and where to go experience the really feeling of the city. I believe Lyon is one of
those cities.
If Paris is a woman, Lyon is a woman with tones of a girl, a girl with curious eyes that like to play.
All that you can imagine is real
De la Suisse a la France
Wondertere happens to pass from living in nationalist, efficient and shy Switzerland, with their mountains, lakes and chocolate, to France that I’m still trying to define, with their cheeses, baguettes and wine, who opens its streets with love, and calm.
Even I was born and raised in Argentina, I had a “diploma” of living two and half years in Zurich. So the change I’m passing through is from Switzerland to France, and that I notice. There are certain things that flow more in Lyon.
The first thing that surprised me was the welcoming virtue of the people. I arrived in Lyon in Blablacar and the driver, that was from this city, recommended me a restaurant to eat really local food (that mostly have pork, they joke that all the dishes have pork in it). The girl who also was on the car with us helped me how to get home and the owner of the place where I am renting picked me up with from the metro station to home.
Since I’m here I got to go out every day Lyon. Is a city full of cultural activity (not sooo far as Paris or Buenos Aires) has a balance that only one can feel when you take time to its streets. And I notice the change with the shy Zurich, which must be given time to gain confidence with it.
People walk slower, enjoy the process of strolling more on the streets. The system is less efficient than in Switzerland where everything is fast and direction. People have time to talk, people want to help. People have no problem to speak in English.
My first week
I made friends the first day I arrived, I found many cultural activities to do: places to speak French, film festivals, fairs of clothing and food, musicians playing on the streets, nearby cities to visit from € 5.
The first week I arrived, people who did not know invited me to dinner at his house. It seems that valued the presence of one, and try to do everything possible to spend some time with you. Because you’re new, because human relationships are important. I’m not saying that Zurich is not, but I see myself opening up to a city more naturally than in Zurich. I feel I can flow more here.
I truly believe that one reason for this trip is for that. To exit the structured and directed Switzerland to venture into Latino life, relax and not be thinking about goals or people with lots of coffee dose killing each other for a place in the world.
The balance in life
Finding a balance
It’s a bit to find a balance between taking and nurture the world, to say it’s enough, get ourselves empty, and then create. There are times when one needs to explore and nurture, others that need to share, others that create and others where it needs to be emptied to start again.
This, in my journey, can be as time to write my book, moments to share my creative process with people, moments to go around the city, just to go out and meet people, moments just for me, just to do nothing, moments to reflect where i want to go in my life.
And at that point Zurich gives me the stability I need in my life and Europe (because Switzerland is not part of the European Union, and in general terms we refer to Europe as what it is all cheaper, people are more open and there more cultural life) so I feel not so bad to live in Switzerland. In a society with a tendency to have direction (and not to be chaos say, as I perceive sometimes Buenos Aires) to build my life of in art (since it requires great courage the decision accompanied by large doses of discipline) Zurich is a good city for that. Because is calm, and is full of nature.
One of their enchanted bridges
